Where it all started...

HP Catering Ltd, originally named (and still known as) Hot Plate Catering Oldham began its journey in 2015 when our Director, Jack Dale, a young Chef from Oldham, decided to go it alone from the family kitchen.

In its first year, the business turned over just £12,000. Five years on and the business now boasts impressive catering contracts and private clients, turning over in excess of £200,000 per year and employs a small team of dedicated, hard working individuals.

"We have worked so hard to get HP off the ground and to do what we have done in the midst of a pandemic, I'm not afraid to say is phenomenal. I'm so proud of the team from our staff in the kitchens, to our admin and operations. We are still in a baby steps situation at the moment. The industry is unstable as it returns following covid and we're approaching it sensibly, walking before we can run. To get to where we've managed to find ourselves, it is all about the will to succeed, not giving up and having the desire to look back after time has passed and think, wow, just look at what we have achieved in this month, or quarter, or past year. Staying focused and just following the dream almost always results in you surprising yourself, one way or another. This started in my parents kitchen, so to be where we are now just five years on is a proud achievement for us.

We have a five year plan currently and we're working to achieve that every single day. The main focus at the moment is on our existing clients and customers and ensuring that everything we do is of a very high standard and that we are maintaining that standard, before opening up and expanding further. I have gone from peeling potatoes in my parents kitchen to signing deals and completing events for some of the biggest Companies on the Planet. I remember my first catering job, hired for a christening back in 2015 and cooking for thirty people felt like a triumph...we celebrated it, so we know that dreams can come true if you start at square one and work hard every day.
